INVESTEC CAPE TOWN ART FAIR 21-23 FEBRUARY 2025
As part of the Christopher Moller Gallery stable of artists, I had the positive and exhilirating experience of showcasing two of my original oil paintings during the Art Fair. “CONNECTION" and “INVITATION” (to read my inspiration and intention for both theses works please click here). The 2025 Investec Art Fair is the 12th edition, showcasing 500 artists from 58 countries across 5 continents. With an expected turn out of 30,000 art enthusiasts, it certainly offered an unforgettable experience for us artists and visitors alike.
Incredibly positive experience shared amongst us all during the Art Fair. As one of the artists within the Christopher Moller Gallery stable of artists. Pictured here with the amazing artist Michael Gah, gallery owners - Christopher and Jaco, team members Evan and Lethabo and my partner. Thank you everyone!
“CONNECTION”
100 x 140cm / 40 x 55 inches / oil on canvas
This was the most touching image for me as the creator of this painting to witness. Sometimes one cannot put into words an emotion you feel when you witness something beautiful - it conjurs something very peaceful in your soul. This image does that for me. I am so very humbled to have this loving couple choose to spend a few moments of their lives to absorb themselves in my creation. It also makes me VERY HAPPY! as this was my intention when creating works - to offer the viewer a sense of calm, enjoyment and peace. A respite from our concrete world, back into our true home - nature.
I love the way a painting has the power to open doors to meet kind-hearted people who are touched by what you do. This lovely couple had attended the show with their two children and had seen “CONNECTION” from afar and we engaged in a conversation which touched upon how there is an invisible thread which joins all things. The beautiful thing about this conversation is that when we live with an open heart, we simply never know what magic will materialise and it just shows that there really is an invisible thread which surrounds us and runs through us during every one of our living breaths.
“INVITATION”
146 X 97cm / 58 x 38 inches / oil on canvas
I decided to entitle this work “invitation” as a personal invitation to the viewer to enter the lovely peaceful place of nature within your own personal heart - this image makes me think of this - once again, very humbled to witness this.
